I remember when I was younger seeing the movie Erin Brockovich staring Julia Roberts for the first time. I believe that this was one of the main films that shaped me into the woman I am today. I never though of woman’s rights much before watching this movie; but you could say I am sort of an activist now. Erin Brockovich accomplished so much besides all of the obstacles that were thrown in her way. She proved everyone’s sexist, classist, opinions of her wrong and single-handedly solved a major problem pushed under the rug by our government.
Brockovich’s unconventional way of solving problems and expressing herself for who she is helped me as a young girl embrace the woman I am and apologize for nothing. Her personality was so big even though society ideals a woman who is quiet and small. So, you can think Erin Brockovich for helping shape the loud, unfiltered, strong woman I am today.
